About Us

Fonseca Elementary School strives to provide our students with a safe, inclusive learning environment that is sensitive to their diverse needs. We aim to challenge students appropriately to develop self-motivation for academic and social growth. Through rigorous instruction and social-emotional support, staff will prepare students to be future leaders by fostering the traits of perseverance, empathy, and passion while cultivating a growth mindset that will make students contributing members of the global community.


Fonseca Elementary School is committed to fostering diverse and inclusive leaders who embody the traits of perseverance, empathy and passion. 

We strive to prepare our "Eagles" with the academic and social skills needed to view challenges as opportunities within their communities and throughout their lives.

MassDOT Design Public Hearing Improvements at Fonseca Elementary

 

 

 

 

Community members are invited to attend a MassDOT Design Public Hearing to learn about and provide feedback on the proposed Safe Routes to School improvements near the Mary L. Fonseca Elementary School.

The project includes upgrades to sidewalks, curb ramps, pavement, and pedestrian and bicycle accommodations along North Quarry Street, London Street, and N. Wall Street to improve safety and accessibility for students, families, and the community.

Residents will have the opportunity to review project plans, ask questions, and share comments. Public input is encouraged and will be considered as the project moves forward.

News & Announcements

Students with microgreens.

One of the enrichments offered in the Durfee Summer Enrichment Program is Environmental Science! Students in these classes are getting hands-on experience exploring the connections between plants, animals, and the environment. From growing their own vegetables in the greenhouse and under specialized grow lights to learning about fish and caring for classroom aquariums, students are discovering how ecosystems work while developing valuable science skills.

Four FRPS students are working on a project that is more than just a summer job.

The students who currently attend Talbot Middle School and the Robert L. Medeiros Resiliency Preparatory Academy have spent the last few weeks cleaning out the former Wiley School on North Main Street.
